12 FPT University students will participate in the one last semester program, OJT and protect the graduation thesis at UBD, Brunei. This is the first time that FPT University students are allowed to take part in the semester and the OJT "2 in 1" internship, in just one semester, students study the final term, intern and at the same time finish their graduation thesis, all of which will take place at Innovation Lab, a cooperative project between FPT University and UBD.

UBD is one of the top 50 universities in the world, Top 1.3% of the top universities in the world and Top 1% in Asia.

The studying semester and internship will begin from August 13 to December 5, 2018 at the National University of Brunei, for Software Engineering students of FPT University. Students who take part in the term and internship will learn and apply new technologies of the 4.0 digital transformation revolution such as mobile web programming, big data, network security, and game development. Students will also learn how to apply technology into innovative startup projects and get to connect, participate in creative startups in Brunei’s ecosystems and expand into a number of other countries in the region.

In the process of learning and applying technology, students will receive the guidance and support of FPT University and UBD University teachers. At the same time, when digging deeper into technology majors, students will be guided and supported by industry mentors from Vietnam as well as regional countries.

The curriculum will require students to do a project, complete it and use the project to develop a graduation thesis and protect it in UBD, Brunei. The process of thesis protection will follow similar steps as at FPT University in Vietnam. The student project’s reviewer council will criticise online from Vietnam.

Dr. Hoang Viet Ha, Director of the International Collaboration at FPT Edu said, “This is the first time FPT University students have the opportunity to participate in a semester of“ two weighted one ”, which means they can study the final semester, finish graduate thesis protection and also participate in the OJT at a leading university in the region. Studying and experiencing at a top university will help students improve their international ability and experience, ready for international integration. ”

Tran Dang Hung, a year 2016 student, IT industry, one of 12 students participating in the internship in Brunei this time sharded, "It can be said that this is a valuable and important time to help me improve my skills, ability in the process of learning, especially it opens up many job opportunities after graduating for myself in the future ”.

It is known that participating in the OJT period in Brunei, FPT University students not only gain knowledge of new technology in the 4.0 revolutionary era but also have the opportunity to learn more about business models based on the projects of experts in Brunei. In addition, students will experience the unique culture of Brunei throughout the four months of living and studying here.

In addition to the internship program in Brunei, FPT University is currently implementing an internship program in countries like Japan and Australia. It is expected that the program will continue to be expanded to other countries in the future.
