After the exchange semester, Taiwanese freshman has fallen in love with Vietnam
Taiwanese freshman – Huang Shih Chieh has fallen in love with Vietnam’s scenery after staying a few months in this S-shaped country. He has had many interesting photography as well as travel stories in Vietnam.
Huang Shih Chieh (born 1996) also known as Peter, is currently a student in the Exchange semester at FPT University, International Business major. The young man started to have a passion for photography 6 years ago. After he bought his first camera, Peter began exploring wild and unpopular locations. Such as the times he cruises on his familiar motorcycle and recorded everything with his new camera. He had visited many locations in Taiwan and Korea.
Enrolling in the Exchange semester at FPT University was the second time Peter had come to Vietnam. The last time was at Da Nang City, this time it was Sai Gon. His passion for travelling has helped him balance between studying and exploring many locations in this colorful S-shaped land.

Peter confided that in almost 9 months, he had come to Sapa, Lao Cai, Ha Noi, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Da Lat, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Long An and Can Tho,…Of all the locations, Da Lat has impressed him the most with its nice, alluring atmosphere and relaxing environment.

“I spent 18 days travelling all over Vietnam during two semesters and saving a few weekends to visit the local areas. I think I love the food from central and southern Vietnam the most, I love the environment and climate of Central Vietnam and the history and culture of Northern Vietnam. Sometimes I went out with my Vietnamese friends or just alone, but mostly with William (Hung, Yun-Shin), another Taiwanese exchange student, we travelled by train, coach and scooter. We like to explore new things and challenge anything.”
For Peter, curiosity is his motivation, every journey and destination are eye-opening and have made his life more interesting.

During the Vietnam exploration journey, Phong Nha cavern (Quang Binh) is the next destination of this travel enthusiast. Peter also shared that after ending the semester here at Vietnam, he intends to either work in his homeland or abroad, including Vietnam.
